About the Local Area

Located in the middle of the state, Mercer County is home to Princeton University and may fortune 500 companies. Mercer County Park is the home of the US Olympic Rowing Team and has hosted many national and NCAA championships.

West Windsor is just a quick train ride away from New York and a similarly short journey to Philadelphia. Being centrally located has its perks, as the famed Jersey Shore and its boardwalks are less than an hour away. It’s also a short drive to Princeton and all the arts and culture that the top university town has to offer, and central to numerous nature trails and parks for outdoor adventures.

About Challenge New Jersey State Triathlon

The swim is in the calm and current-free Mercer Lake followed by the fast, flat bike on well maintained local and county roads around the perimeter of the park. The bike course is one loop for the Sprint and two for the Olympic.

The run course follows in the footsteps of the US Cross Country Championships and is entirely within the park on paved trails running along the banks of the lake and through shaded wood areas.

In addition, the event is super easy to access for spectators and supporters with easy and plentiful parking.
