This guy – Karel Sabbe – runs 4300 kilometers in 46 days and breaks the world record

We all like to be inspired by phenomenal achievements. By things that are possible for few and only capture the imagination. Belgian ultrarunner Karel Sabbe has provided such an achievement.

Sabbe is a world-famous ultrarunner – partly because he was one of the finishers in this year’s leaden Barkley Marathons – and his fame most likely will only increase. Last week he finished the Pacific Crest Trail: a route from Mexico to the border of Canada over a whopping 4,300 kilometers. The trail is not only long but also leaden, due to a lot of altitude meters. Sabbe completed the trail in 46 days, 12 hours and 50 minutes, breaking the former world record by more than five days.
