‘Race of the Year’ Triathlon Award goes to Challenge Roth for ninth time

For the ninth year in a row, DATEV Challenge Roth was awarded the Triathlon Award for ‘Race of the Year 2019 – Long Distance’. Readers of leading German magazine, Triathlon, have voted for the iconic triathlon in southern Germany every year since 2011.

Alice and Felix Walchshöfer accepted the trophy at the ‘Sailfish-Night of the Year’ in Langen near Frankfurt. Felix Walchshöfer said, “The award does not belong to us but to each of the 7,500 event volunteers, to all the athletes and spectators coming year after year, from near and far, and to all the supporters throughout the Roth region. Without all these people, the event would not be possible. Thank you.”

Alice Walchshöfer added, “We are extremely happy. Receiving the award for the ninth time in a row shows how many people have so much passion and commitment to Roth.”

A total of 51% voted for DATEV Challenge Roth in Triathlon magazine’s online poll as the world’s best race over the 3.8km swim, 180km bike and 42.2 km run distance.
