A European Championship over the classic distance of 3.8 kilometers of swimming, 180 kilometers of cycling and 42.2 kilometers of running, a course that lies below sea level, tens of thousands of spectators along the course, a stadium where everyone is enjoying a huge party, the oldest Long Distance race in Europe and the second oldest in the world: Challenge Almere-Amsterdam is very special for dozens of reasons. This year will be no different, when the second weekend of September will once again feature the European Championships Long Distance, as well as an ever-popular Middle Distance and numerous side events.
