About the race
CHALLENGEFLORIANÓPOLIS will take place in Beira-Mar Norte, Brazil. The event will have two stages. The first race takes place in March, with Olympic- and sprint-distances. The second race takes place in December. This race closes the year with a middle-distance race that will count as the Brazilian Championship Final and qualifying race for THECHAMPIONSHIP.
The CHALLENGEFLORIANÓPOLIS March race will be part of the commemorative event calendar for Florianópolis’ birthday. The event will feature races in the Olympic- and sprint distances. It will have an innovative course going through the main postcard of the city, the Hercílio Luz Bridge. The bridge had its reopening at the end of 2019 after a long recovery process and now connects the island to the mainland. Athletes will have a privileged and unique view of this beautiful attraction. Additionally, the practically flat course impels athletes to seek their best marks, bringing more emotion and motivation to the event.
The CHALLENGEFLORIANÓPOLIS race that takes place in December will be validated as the closing stage of the Brazilian Long Distance Championship. It will have a higher score than the other stages of the circuit and include the main names of the Brazilian triathlon in the distance. All this together promises a close fight to define who will be the Brazilian champion of the season.
