Top Challenge Family Moments of 2022

With only a few hours left of 2022, we thought it’d be fun to take a look back at our top 10 favourite moments of the year…

1 Sara Pérez Sala and Gustav Iden took the ultimate Challenge Family titles in a thrilling day of racing at The Championship 2022.

2 Magnus Ditlev smashed Jan Frodeno’s Roth bike course record in 4:01:56 and took the win in 7:35:48, just nine seconds short of Frodeno’s record time from 2016!

3 Challenge Taiwan celebrated its 10th anniversary with a record field of over 6,000 athletes and established itself as the biggest triathlon in Asia!

4 Challenge Family went virtual with more than half the bike courses now on ROUVY so you can ride your favourite Challenge race anytime, anywhere and whatever the weather!

5 DATEV Challenge Roth powered by hep won the prestigious Sailfish Race of the Year for the 11th year in a row! An incredible accolade for the race and the Roth community.

6 The tears were flowing at Challenge Kaiserwinkl-Walchsee as Simone Kumhofer became the first Austrian woman to win the race in the biggest win of her career, all while holding down a regular full-time job!

7 Pouring rain and strong winds did nothing to dampen the dynamic wins from Kieran Linders and Katharina Wolff at the European Triathlon Long Distance Championships at Challenge Almere-Amsterdam.

8 Challenge Peguera-Mallorca brought home the top prize in the Challenge Family Race Awards – Race of the Year 2022!

9 No less than nine new races around the world were announced to join Challenge Family for 2023!

10 Last, but most definitely not least, Fenella Langridge and Sam Long each took home a US$25k end-of-season bonus after coming out top of the Challenge Family Pro Athlete World Bonus.
