After an exciting CHALLENGEPRAGUE, the Challenge Family World Bonus has a new male leader. Pablo Gonzalez Dapena crossed the finish line in second place and earned himself 200 points and overtook the former leader Sebastian Kienle by 50 points. Verstuyft earned 250 points with an excellent win at CHALLENGEPRAGUE and has worked her way up to second place with 780 points. Yvonne Van Vlerken is still in the lead with 925 points.
CHALLENGEPRAGUE was a spectacular race for Javier Gomez. The Spanish triathlete looked really convincing throughout and as always finished with a very strong run. His win earned him 250 points, his first of the season. He is in 17th place in the current rankings. Gonzalez’ second place in Prague (200 points) together with points earned at CHALLENGEROMA (200), CHALLENGEGRANCANARIA (250), CHALLENGELISBOA (250) and CHALLENGESALOU (200) have taken him to the top of the male rankings with 1100 points in total. Sebastian Kienle wasn’t competing at a Challenge event at the weekend so couldn’t improve on his 1050 points. Similarly, Dylan McNeice also chose not to race in Prague and remains in third place in the rankings with 1000 points.

Female rankings
Katrien Verstuyft was the fastest lady to cross the finish line at CHALLENGEPRAGUE and collected 250 points for the Challenge Family World Bonus. Earlier this season, the triathlete from Belgium earned points at CHALLENGEROMA (100), CHALLENGELISBOA (200), CHALLENGE The Championship (30) and CHALLENGEGERAARDSBERGEN (200). But it’s still Yvonne van Vlerken who leads the ranking. She didn’t race any Challenge event this weekend, so couldn’t add to her 925 points she has earned at earlier races. Verstuyft is closing the gap and currently has 780 points. Lucy Charles remains third with 775 points.
Daniela Sämmler and Laura Siddall both have 750 points and share position four. The first five women are in a range of 175 points, so it’s going to be exciting to see the next race results and their impact on the final outcome at the end of the season.

Upcoming
The next opportunity to earn points will be at CHALLENGETURKU. This race takes place in Finland on the 11th August 2018. The $165k end-of-season bonus will pay five deep across both male and female with the top ranked Pro taking home $30k. Second place will carry a bonus of $20k, third, fourth and fifth positions will pay $15k, $12k and $5k accordingly. Ranking will be decided through a fair points system based on placings earned. In the event of a tie, the prize money will be averaged between the two athletes and corresponding places.
