Pole Kacper Stepniak was of an extraordinary level yesterday at LOTTO Challenge Gdansk: after the swim he was still in a leading group, but on the bike he pulled his own plan and took off full throttle. Stepniak did with such a power that he would not see anyone else for the rest of the day anymore. Still, things got incredibly exciting during the run because Ognjen Stojanovic and Marcel Bolnat were getting closer and closer, constantly chasing Stepniak. In the end, Stepniak (3:44:25) held less than a minute of the five-minute lead he had.
