Challenge Cape Town strives to have most ecological and environmentally friendly race

CHALLENGECAPETOWN is presenting a new partnership in their strive to raise awareness for climate change, poaching, large scale farming and related problems. “We take the concept of doing our bit to help reverse climate change and bring some harmony back on to the earth seriously. We strive to have the most ecological and environmentally friendly race, not only in Africa, but also on the planet. That is why we love to do what we do and that’s why we are super excited to announce our newest partner for CHALLENGECAPETOWN 2021 – our Land Conservation Partner, Shamwari Game Reserve,” said Race Director Cillian Ryan.

Shamwari is a conservation oriented 5-star safari destination, situated in the heart of the Eastern Cape in South Africa. “Their morals and ecological values align with ours,” explains Ryan. “They see that we at CHALLENGECAPETOWN are serious about helping the conservation cause and are in fact offering an amazing lucky draw prize to one super lucky athlete that has entered before World Ranger Day (July 31). The winner will get a one-night stay at Shamwari for two people, worth at least 450 euro. The prize includes meals and of course entering the safari park with a ranger.” Athletes that have entered or rolled over from 2020 will be automatically added to the draw.

CHALLENGEFAMILY CEO Jort Vlam can only praise such partnerships. “At CHALLENGEFAMILY we’ve been committed for years to making our races as sustainable as possible and being frugal to planet earth. It’s great to see that the local team at CHALLENGECAPETOWN thinks the same way and does everything they can to contribute to this. As CHALLENGEFAMILY we will be working out many more wonderful sustainability plans in the time to come, but this is a lovely milestone already.”
