Qu\u00e9bec is establishing itself as a must-visit destination for triathlons in North America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second edition of SAIL Challenge Qu\u00e9bec powered by Argon 18 concluded yesterday to loud applause and in an electrifying atmosphere at Quais Park in Espace Quatre Cents. With increased participation, an optimised venue, and strong enthusiasm from the triathlon community, the event is already positioning itself as a key stop on the Challenge Family circuit in North America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over two days of competition, nearly 2,000 athletes from across North America and Europe pushed their limits in Sprint, Olympic, and Middle Distance events on a spectacular urban course that weaves through the historic architecture of Old Qu\u00e9bec and offers stunning views of the St. Lawrence and Saint-Charles rivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Highlights of the weekend included victories from athletes Alex Labrie, B\u00e9atrice Fillion, Nicolas Harvey, Sarah Graves, Nicolas Gilbert, and Tamara Jewett, who each excelled in their respective categories. Nearly 1,000 participants crossed the finish line, accompanied by family and friends, to celebrate unforgettable achievements. Among them was Roland Proulx, age 75, who completed the P113 race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another milestone was the first-ever Canadian Armed Forces National Triathlon Championship held in Qu\u00e9bec City, with 80 military athletes on the start line, preceded by a stirring rendition of the national anthem performed by a Canadian Forces musical ensemble. More than 500 volunteers played a vital role in making the event possible, braving rainy conditions and contributing to its overall success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn just two years, SAIL Challenge Qu\u00e9bec, powered by Argon 18, has won the hearts of the triathlon community thanks to its unique course, warm welcome, and high-level organisation. It\u2019s much more than just a start and finish line \u2014 it\u2019s a true boutique triathlon experience in the heart of the Capitale-Nationale. I want to acknowledge the commitment of our partners, the City of Qu\u00e9bec, the Port of Qu\u00e9bec, and especially the incredible energy of our 500 volunteers. Looking ahead to 2026, the event will take a significant step forward with the introduction of a full-distance race (3.8 km swim, 180 km bike, and 42.2 km run), developed in collaboration with DATEV Challenge Roth. This addition further strengthens Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s place on the international Challenge Family calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
