Challenge Canberra is delivering a full festival of sport to Australia\u2019s capital city this weekend, 16\/17 November, with no less than six events over two days, including the Pro Open combining the Standard and Sprint distances, and age group worlds qualifying events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Pro Open will be contended by a solid field of some of Australia\u2019s brightest young short-course talent, along with established long course athletes, racing the Standard distance on Saturday and Sprint distance on Sunday. The lowest combined times determine the final placings and prize money. In contention in the women is British Commonwealth Games champion, Jodie Stimpson, who\u2019ll be taking on Australian U23 short course stars, Rochelle Hill, Chloe Bateup and Tara Sosinski. In the men, Australians Rory Thornhill, Ben Hill, Callum McClusky who recently finished second at the Brasilia World Cup and Jarrod Osborne, fresh from his win in at 70.3 Melbourne, will all be in contention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, just under 1,000 age group athletes will race over Middle and Standard distance triathlon and aquabike, with all four events acting as World Qualifying Events for the 2025 Multisport World Championships. Also on offer is sprint, supersprint and a kids aquathlon, all set in the heart of Canberra around Lake Burley Griffen, overlooked by the nation\u2019s Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
