Hayden Wilde, the Olympic bronze medalist in Tokyo and Rebecca Clarke, a top Kiwi pro, will wait to be challenged by anyone from around the world.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Using ROUVY\u2019s real-life footage combined with 3D animation, hundreds of triathletes and cyclists from around the world will pit themselves against this deceptively tough 90km course, without having to leave home. They can also measure themselves against one of the world\u2019s best triathletes, Hayden Wilde, the Olympic bronze medalist in Tokyo, alongside Rebecca Clarke, fresh off her win at the Tauranga Half.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This inaugural virtual race will replace the actual Challenge Wanaka event which was canceled due to New Zealand\u2019s COVID restrictions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAs our longest standing race outside of Roth, it was a real shame to see Challenge Wanaka cancelled due to COVID, despite the team\u2019s best efforts. However, it is fitting that Challenge\u2019s first international race is now the first virtual race, again making history,\u201d said Challenge Family CEO, Jort Vlam. \u201cOur partnership with ROUVY opens the world\u2019s borders and allows everyone to race this spectacular course; ROUVY\u2019s real-life footage really captures why this is one of the world\u2019s most scenic triathlons.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Athletes can race <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rouvy.com\/en\/453\/Challenge-Wanaka---an-outdoor-natural-paradise-in-the-wild-for-the-adventurous\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Challenge Wanaka<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on Saturday 19 February at 9:00am NZT\/9:00pm CET (18 February), which is open to athletes of all abilities; the only requisite is a smart trainer.
