It will be an exciting prospect for triathlon fans around the world to see these athletes doing battle against the sport\u2019s middle- and long-distance stars.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vincent Luis of France, the two-time and reigning World Triathlon Champion, commented, \u201cI am pleased to have been selected as a wildcard for the PTO 2020 Championship. It is great to see the PTO working to support professionals and our triathlon community and I look forward to competing against the world\u2019s best triathletes.\u201d British rising star Georgia Taylor-Brown, who is Luis\u2019 fellow reigning World Triathlon Champion, stated, \u201cIt is an honour to have been selected as a wildcard for the PTO 2020 Championship, particularly alongside the likes of Nicola Spirig, who is a legend in our sport. I really am looking forward to being part of this truly iconic event.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Nicola Spirig, the Swiss Superfrau, whose 20-year career has encompassed a level of greatest rarely seen in sport, is thrilled at the prospect of racing today\u2019s best athletes and commented, \u201cI am excited about being selected as a wildcard and competing in the world-class field at the PTO 2020 Championship. Being on the starting line with the best athletes is what makes a true championship. \u00a0I am thankful that the PTO and\u00a0<em>CHALLENGEDAYTONA\u00a0<\/em>are able to host such a great event in this very difficult year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Norwegian ace and middle-distance world-record holder, Kristian Blummenfelt, no stranger to the rigours of longer-distance racing, commented, \u201cThe PTO 2020 Championship will be one of the biggest events this year and I am pleased to have been given a wildcard place. Having raced against many of the top middle-distance pros over the last couple of years, I can appreciate that they are a tough bunch and the race will be a gruelling affair.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The PTO 2020 Championship will be the highlight of a difficult year and will see the world\u2019s top triathletes competing for a $1,000,000 prize purse. With the top 40 PTO World Ranked athletes and the PTO wildcard selections, the field for the PTO 2020 Championship will be the strongest ever assembled.<\/p>\n<p>The next set of four wildcard selections for the PTO 2020 Championship at\u00a0<em><strong>CHALLENGE<\/strong>DAYTONA<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/em>\u00a0will be announced at 15:00 BST on 14th
