After an intense weekend full of CHALLENGE<\/strong><\/em>FAMILY<\/em> races, the current rankings of the CHALLENGE<\/strong><\/em>FAMILY<\/em> World Bonus has been shaken up considerably. Points were divided at CHALLENGE<\/strong><\/em>TAIWAN<\/em>, CHALLENGE<\/strong><\/em>GRANCANARIA <\/em>and CHALLENGE<\/strong><\/em>CANCUN<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Romain Guillaume won CHALLENGE<\/strong><\/em>TAIWAN<\/em> after an impressive race. This victory gave him 750 points for the rankings and thanks to this amount of points he is on the same level as Pieter Heemeryck, who has 750 points as well thanks to his strong victory at CHALLENGE<\/strong><\/em>GRANCANARIA<\/em> but also thanks to points earned earlier in Daytona and Salou. Both athletes share the lead in the CHALLENGE<\/strong><\/em>FAMILY<\/em> World Bonus rankings. Michael Alonso and Per van Vlerken became second and third in Taiwan and received 600 and 450 points. They are now in third and fourth position in the rankings.<\/p>\n

Cameron Brown entered the top ten of the rankings with 225 points, earned with his fifth place at CHALLENGE<\/strong><\/em>TAIWAN<\/em>. Andy Potts ranked one place higher thanks to his win at CHALLENGE<\/strong><\/em>CANCUN <\/em>(250 points). Potts is ranked sixth while Brown is on a seventh place in the rankings.<\/p>\n

Women’s ranking<\/strong><\/p>\n

This weekend Lisa Roberts was really on fire with an amazing win at CHALLENGE<\/strong><\/em>TAIWAN<\/em>. Because of this Long Distance victory she earned 750 points for the rankings and together with her 75 points earned earlier at CHALLENGE<\/strong><\/em>DAYTONA<\/em>, she is on a total of 825 points now. This amount puts her in a strong leading position at the rankings.<\/p>\n

Carolin Lehrieder, who became second at Taiwan and earned 600 points with this result, follows Roberts. Third place is for Julia Grant after a nice bronze medal in Taiwan and 450 points for this race.<\/p>\n

Also the fourth place is for someone who raced last weekend. Mirinda Carfrae finished second at CHALLENGE<\/strong><\/em>CANCUN<\/em>, earned 200 points and combined with her 200 points earned at CHALLENGE<\/strong><\/em>ASIAPACIFICCHAMPIONSHIP<\/em>, she is on a fourth place with 400 points in total.<\/p>\n

CHALLENGE<\/em><\/strong>FAMILY<\/em> World Bonus Explained<\/strong><\/p>\n

The $165,000 end-of-season bonus pays five deep across both male and female professional fields, with the top-ranked pro taking home $30,000. Second place claims a bonus of $20,000. Third, fourth, and fifth positions pay $15,000, $12,000, and $5,000 respectively. Ranking is decided through a fair points system based on placings earned.
