Challenge Family holds great respect to all athletes racing in one or more of our events around the globe. For a large part we are happy with the contribution that the PRO athletes have to the sport of triathlon and Challenge Family is proud to be the stage on which the PRO athletes can perform to their best of their capabilities.

In order to race as a PRO at Challenge races, the PRO needs to be registered at Challenge Family. After this it is up to the individual Challenge race organizer to agree with the PRO athlete on additional services and entry procedures. You will then be eligible to receive the following entry benefits for any full or half distance Challenge event

  • Free entry for athletes ranked 1-250 in the Prize Money Ranking
  • 50% of entry fee for athletes ranked from 251 – 400 in the Prize Money Ranking
  • For athletes ranked 401 and above, entry benefits are at the discretion of the race director

ChallengeFamily – Prize money rankings

Next to this CHALLENGEFAMILY has introduced a pro athlete bonus scheme to its European races. The initiative provides professional athletes with the opportunity to race for a share of a €140,000 end-of-season bonus as well as a prize purse of minimum €25,000 per each qualifying long distance race and €19,000 per each qualifying half distance race. Full distance races will pay minimum six deep, half distance races will all pay six deep.

The €140k bonus will pay five deep across both men and women with the top ranked pro taking home €25k, second will earn €17k and third will win €13k, fourth €10k and fifth €5k. Ranking will be decided through a points system based on placings earned.

Athletes are only able to count their best six CHALLENGEFAMILY races during the season, of which no more than two can be full distance races. In the advent of a tie the prize money will be averaged between the two athletes and corresponding places.
