Ten years triathlon #intheheartofthecity – Challenge Heilbronn powered by Audi with many surprises in the anniversary year
It started with a vision, today the triathlon spectacle in downtown Heilbronn is a fixed date in the calendar of the city and of many triathletes. A sporty three-way fight in the middle of a big city was an absolute exception in 2009. In 2019, the triathlon celebrates its anniversary with the motto #intheheartofthecity. Ten years of triathlon in Heilbronn, including five years as Challenge Heilbronn under the umbrella brand of the Challenge Family. Of course, this is celebrated and in the background, the organizers on the birthday program, athletes and spectators may be prepared for a lot.
Early bird price
If you want to be part of the anniversary edition, you can register right now. Several hundred athletes have already checked in and thus benefited from the current early bird price. If you decide to participate until 31st of August 31, 2018, you can still check in for the best early bird registration fee.
New date in May due to holidays
A surprise for the anniversary year has already been announced directly after the race in 2018: In 2019 the race will not take place as usual in the middle of June, but already in May. Due to holidays and a few other date clashes, the race for the jubilee year will be on 19 May 2019. However, according to organizers Kai and Rik Sauser, this will be a one-time shift. The athletes can use the competition 2020 again in June as a perfect preparation shortly before the big German long distance races.
Title sponsorship at one of the biggest triathlons in Germany
The next surprise will be the new title sponsor. After nine successful years as Sparkassen Challenge Heilbronn, the Kreissparkasse Heilbronn makes room for a new sponsor. “We are very grateful to the Kreissparkasse for the very successful cooperation of recent years,” says Kai Sauser. “Also on behalf of the former organizers, we would like to sincerely thank you for your support in setting up the event and your loyalty for many years.” Now is the right time for fresh air and Sauser is confident that a new title sponsor can be presented soon.
