FERNANDO ALARZA WILL COMPETE AT CHALLENGE PEGUERA-MALLORCA

Fernando Alarza, the recent winner of the silver medal in the European championship, announced that he will be competing at CHALLENGE PEGUERA-MALLORCA on 20thOctober. Alarza is a triathlon icon and having him choose CHALLENGE PEGUERA-MALLORCA, showcases the excellent quality of this race.
Alarza’s decision to take part in CHALLENGE PEGUERA-MALLORCA was probably influenced by his desire to run a middle-distance triathlon to finish the season. This will be the third half distance competition Alarza runs after his participation at Zarautz (Guipúzcoa) two years ago, where he finished in second position, and the Ironman 70.3 of Cascais (Portugal) that he will be running next 30thSeptember.
In August, Alarza won the silver medal and the European Triathlon championship in the Olympic distance that took place in Glasgow, where Alarza produced a run time over one minute clear of the leader in a spectacular running section, beating all rivals except Pierre LeCorre, who became the continental champion.
After a difficult season for the Spanish triathlete, due to an injury that forced him to leave the competition for a few months, Alarza ran the last round of the World Triathlon Series on the Gold Coast (Australia) on 16thSeptember, where he finished in eleventh position.
We are looking forward to see Fernando competing at this challenging race. Currently, Alarza is definitely one of the favourites to win.
