CHALLENGE COPENHAGEN
Challenge Copenhagen is the new member of the Challenge Family. With the location in one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals both athletes and spectators can expect a magnificent and unique experience that has not been seen at a long distance triathlon anywhere else in the world.Â
The race will begin in the artificial laguna at Amager Strandpark. The location offers perfect facilities for both athletes and spectators. The calm waters at the beach park present great potential for fast swim times. Spectators have perfect condition to follow the athletes from the seaboard and from the three bridges crossing the laguna.Â
The bike course takes the athletes from Amager through the inner streets of Copenhagen up to the northern part of Sealand where two loops make up for the central parts of the bike course. On the course there will be hot spots were spectators follow the athletes and create the right winning athmosphere.Â
The final run will be on the waterfront in Copenhagen. The flat three looped course will take the athletes pass some of Copenhagen’s most spectacular attractions such as the Little Mermaid, Amalienborg Castle and the old harbor of Nyhavn before they reach the finish line in front of Christianborg - home of the Danish parliament. Hot spots, music and historic attractions will create a fantastic atmosphere unparallel to any iron-distance triathlon in the world.
Challenge Copenhagen will be held for the first time on August 15th 2010
We are happy to welcome you in Copenhagen!Â
